1. Project Overview - Senate Bill 546 requires designated Texas school buses be equipped with three-point lap-shoulder seat belts meeting updated safety and compliance standards. We provide full-service consulting support to ensure your school district meets compliance efficiently, safely, and with minimal service disruption.
The following services are included for your school district:
a. Compliance Review & Evaluation - Evaluate the district fleet for SB 546 applicability, current equipment status, and anticipated retrofitting requirements.
b. SB 546 Fleet Assessment – Physical inspection of existing buses to verify model compatibility and installation requirements.
c. Public Meeting Presentation – As per TEA requirements, school districts must conduct a public meeting to disclose fleet assessment results, anticipated retrofitting requirements, and current estimate to complete retrofitting applicable school buses with three-point seat belts. Slide presentation and detailed description will be provided by TTG.
d. Local Venders Cost Estimate – A cost estimate will be provided for all retrofitting requirements. Cost estimate will include all requirements listed by school bus manufactured year, make, and model. Any school buses identified for floor replacement will be included.
e. TEA Report Instructions for Submission through Sentinel - As per TEA requirements, school districts must submit all required information in the TEA Three-Point Seat Belt Report no later than the established deadline. All information will be provided to the Director of Transportation for submission in the Sentinel system no later than 7 days after the public meeting.
2. Fixed Project Fee – Includes consulting labor, on-site fleet assessment, public meeting presentation slides and information packet, and submission data for TEA submission through Sentinel. (Based on fleet size)
3. Payment Terms – Net 30 from Invoice Date
